Every year, we search for new projects to raise funds for the foundation, but we want those projects to have a meaning. That's how "Let the Butterflies Speak" was born.
I've always loved how a picture can tell a story. That's what we want to do here. Cindy Duclos of Cynetik Photography has accepted to take pictures of families, new borns, children, pregnancy... moments. In every moment, she will add butterflies. They will tell the story. They can represent a loved one or even just your attachment to the cause. You are the only ones who know that story, but by taking part in this project, you will contribute to the 2015 campaign.
Can't wait to see all you beautiful pictures! Thank you!
Off we go! We have just sold the first ticket for the Butterfly Wings Foundation 2013 Lottery!

De l’autre côté de la lune / Acadian Lullabies
The lullabies album launched last year is doing well. Not only is it available in all of Distribution Plages’ retail outlets and via their website, it is also available on iTunes!
The album is in music critic Marc Lalonde’s list of the top 10 albums launched in 2012. Here is his review published last November:
De l’autre côté de la lune – Various artists
November 7, 2012. De l’autre côté de la lune is an exceptional project that offers 13 magical moments that are to be savoured one musical note at a time. The compilation of Acadian lullabies is a concept album whose proceeds go to the Butterfly Wings Foundation, a foundation that does fundraising for the Tree of Hope Campaign (Friends of the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont Foundation) and the Moncton Hospital’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (Friends of the Moncton Hospital Foundation).
For the project, founder Isabelle Bujold called upon a few Acadian artists, who all accepted her request by offering 13 lovely lullabies that soothe and comfort.
Some of the lullabies appealed to me a bit more than others. Danny Boudreau offers us “Ferme les yeux”, a beautiful, wonderfully written song performed with an almost divine voice. This song is followed by Louise Vautour’s “Valse bébé”, which is soothing for the soul. The most touching lullaby, however, is that of Wilfred LeBouthillier, “Je ne serai jamais”, a very personal song that deeply touches everyone who listens to it. Also, we are fortunate to be able to enjoy once again “Eugène”, one of signer-songwriter Ronald Bourgeois’s best songs.
DE L’AUTRE CÔTÉ DE LA LUNE, BERCEUSES ACADIENNES is altogether a wonderful album that makes us feel better, that touches and soothes us. Thirteen Acadian artists and groups take us into their world of dreams where wounds and sorrows disappear. Thirteen magical moments that captivate and touch us profoundly. This is a must for the suffering heart, for all who like to be cradled. Learn more about this beautiful album on iTunes or http://plages.net/ .
The Butterfly Wings Foundation was recently recognized as a Partner (cumulative donations totaling between $25,000 and $49,000) to the Friends of The Moncton Hospital Foundation. Pictured from left to right are, David Holt, Friends Chairman, Réjean Boudreau, Isabelle and Marie Claire Bujold, and Donn Peters, President and CEO for Horizon Health Network
Founded only two years ago, the Butterfly Wings Foundation is already accomplishing more than it had imagined was possible. This year, a total of $42,903.38 was raised. On November 30, 2012, the Foundation donated half of that amount to the Tree of Hope Foundation. Cofounder Isabelle Bujold was on site to sing two songs, including “De l’autre côté de la lune”, that she wrote in memory of her father, André Bujold, who cofounded that foundation with her and who unfortunately lost his battle against cancer on February 29, 2012. Making this year’s donation was even more touching considering that the goal set by André, $40,000, was exceeded.
Again this year, the Butterfly Wings Foundation is happy to donate half the funds that it raised in its last campaign to the Moncton Hospital’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. This year, the donation amounts to $21,451.69.

De l’autre côté de la lune / Berceuses acadiennes
Since its inception, the Butterfly Wings Foundation has made sure that the projects it undertakes are in line with the causes it supports, the Tree of Hope campaign and the Moncton Hospital’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. The Butterfly Wings co-founder, Isabelle Bujold, said that an album comprised of lullabies was only fitting: “Adults and children alike need to hear comforting songs that can soothe them in good times as well as in more difficult times.”
Among the artists who agreed to take part in the project are the Hay Babies, Marie-Philippe Bergeron, Danny Boudreau, Louise Vautour, Monique Poirier, Kevin McIntyre, les Jeunes chanteurs d’Acadie, the choir from the Académie Isabelle Thériault, Joannie Benoît, Wilfred LeBouthillier, Ronald Bourgeois, the Hug Ease (duo composed of Ginette Ahier and Mathieu D’Astous), Isabelle Bujold as well as George Belliveau, who also acts as producer of the album.
The artists performing on the album are not the only artists featured on the album. The album’s cover is a painting by artist Patrick Minville who is originally from Grande-Vallée, Québec, but now resides in Campbellton. The painting will be sold during the auction to be held before the album’s launch as part the Butterfly Wings annual benefit evening.
The Butterfly Wings Foundation
The Butterfly Wings Foundation is a not-for-profit organization that raises funds for the Tree of Hope campaign (Dr.-Georges-L.-Dumont Hospital Foundation) and the Moncton Hospital’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (Friends of the Moncton Hospital Foundation). It was created in memory of co-founder Isabelle Bujold’s son, Justin, as well as her father, who passed away last year.
The Butterfly Wings Foundation is proud to partner with the Caisses populaires acadiennes and Radio Beauséjour in achieving this project.

Moncton, Sunday April 22nd, 2012 : On Thursday, May 3rd, at 7 p.m., in the La Caserne concert hall of the Dieppe Arts and Culture Centre, the Jeunes chanteurs d’Acadie and the Guelph Youth Singers will host a benefit concert for the Butterfly Wings Foundation.
The choir members recently returned from an unforgettable trip to Guelph, Ontario, during which they bathed in local culture and tourist attractions. But there were also singing workshops and they wanted, upon their return, to allow the local population to witness for themselves the sweet sounds of both choirs and the strides they have made as far as the quality of their singing is concerned.
« Our participation in the Senior Treble Festival, in Toronto, allowed us to perfect our singing under the direction of renowned director Anton Armstrong. » says Nadine Hébert, the Jeunes chanteurs d’Acadie director. « The girls returned from this trip with fresh and new song experiences and are looking forward to sharing their skills with local folks. » As for the partnership with the Butterfly Wings Foundation, Ms. Hébert says the match was a natural: « When time came to select a charitable cause for our benefit concert, the members of the choir thought of this right away. They know Isabelle Bujold, the founder, and are absolutely delighted to have an opportunity to contribute. » The Butterfly Wings Foundation raises money for the Tree of Hope Campaign and the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit of the Moncton Hospital.
To complete the exchange program, the Guelph Youth Singers will be in Moncton May 1st to 6th. While here, the young singers from Guelph will visit various cultural landmarks and continue to develop friendships with members of the Jeunes chanteurs d’Acadie. The two groups have been twinned under a project funded by the SEVEC Youth Exchanges Canada program. The program is aimed at youth groups between the ages of 12-17 from various provinces and territories across Canada.
“We are thankful for this community’s generous input and sponsorship. This is a clear example of a successful community partnership where families, businesses, leaders and schools/organizations have joined forces to encourage personal growth, community pride and a greater understanding of our Canadian heritage,” concluded Ms Hébert
Tickets for the concert, for only 10 $ each, can be bought from choir members, or by contacting the director or the president of the parents’ committee
